Legends of Rajasthan - Dr. DP Sharma
D. P. Sharma (born 1 May 1969) is a computer scientist and disability rights activist from India. He was born in the village of Samona in the Rajakhera Tehsil of Rajasthan, India. In 2005, he created a work search engine for people with disabilities, which was later implemented by the Government of India's Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. In March 2008, the search engine was featured on the cover of PCQuest's SMB version. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, appointed Sharma as National Brand Ambassador (Academicians and Youth) to the nation-wide initiative Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Drive) in 2017. In 2019, the Government of Rajasthan began the process of creating a Technical University in Jaipur, Rajasthan, based on Sharma's suggestion, to offer technology-enabled training, education, and recovery to people with disabilities. Sharma wrote or co-wrote 22 books, edited/reviewed numerous journal journals, and contributed labour editorials.
